Mrs. Ashley Manning

Dodge County Primary School is proud to announce Ashley B. Manning as their 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Manning is a 1988 graduate of Dodge County High School. She attended Middle Georgia State University before going on to graduate from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. She then went on to attend Georgia Southwestern College receiving her Master’s Degree in Education. In following years, Mrs. Manning received her Teacher Support Specialist Endorsement through RESA as well as her Gifted Endorsement.

Her career in education began as a paraprofessional at North Dodge Elementary in the Fall of 1993. She then went to finish the school year at Northwest Laurens Elementary School as a Special Education teacher of students with special needs for grades K-2. The following year she began teaching fourth grade at Northwest Laurens Elementary until the fall of 2001. At that time, she was fortunate enough to come back to her hometown to continue teaching fourth grade at South Dodge Elementary and later taught fifth grade. In the Fall of 2021, she began teaching as an EIP teacher for grades 3-5. That same year she served as the school’s MTSS Coordinator. After the consolidation of the elementary schools, she continues to serve as an EIP teacher, focusing on first and second grades.

Mrs. Manning has not only devoted her efforts during the school day to her students and school, she has worked as a teacher in the 21st Century After School Program and has been the Site Coordinator for many years.

Mrs. Manning is the daughter of Roscoe and Gail Bennett. She has been married to Jimmy Manning for 30 years. They have two daughters, Faith, a labor/delivery nurse and Abby Christian, a surgical trauma ICU nurse.

One of Mrs. Manning’s favorite quotes is “Team Work Makes the Dream Work!” She believes that all of us working together as a team… our personal family, our work family, students, their parents, and our community to make our dreams work help to develop well-rounded citizens of the future. She is very thankful for this honor to represent Dodge County Primary School as Teacher of the Year and strives to help our students see the kind of people they can grow up to be!
